OH, HI THERE

I suppose I better share a bit about myself

HI, I'M CONOR

Take a look at me as a child and tell me I wasn't born to do hair?!!

I adore teaching and learning from others. I am not perfect, and I make no claim to be. In my career, I've made mistakes, encountered difficulties and challenges, and had many amazing and privileged situations that have helped me grow as a stylist and educator.

In both life and colour, I search for solutions. I'm always asking, "Why?"

Like many of us in the hair industry, I'm neurodivergent.
Like many of us in the hair industry, we deserve tailored education.

Education & Awards

My hairdressing journey began over a decade ago, where I quickly found a passion for colour. I won several awards early on, including the International Young Colourist Award and the prestigious L'Oreal Colour Trophy.

My talent afforded me to work with top industry professionals and expand my expertise through programmes like ID Artist and the L'Oreal Colour Specialist Programme.

My love for education started long before entering the hairdressing arena. I originally planned to become a music and French teacher, driven by my desire to empower others through learning.

After qualifying as a hairdresser, I mashed my passion for teaching with the industry, starting out as an in-salon educator before progressing to nationwide educator for a prominent chain.

In 2016, Conor James Education was born, initially with five students learning basic foil patterns. Since then, it's grown into rooms with hundreds of attendees, online communities of thousands, and international collaborations with renowned brands like Redken, Olaplex, Eleven Australia, and L'Oreal.

I've also worked as a guest educator, consultant, content creator, and creative colourist for global campaigns.

Three years ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD. This experience introduced me to neurodiversity and highlighting the need for more inclusive education within our industry.

Conor James Education has undergone numerous transformations to meet this need, always aiming to deliver education in innovative and inclusive ways.

My dedication to inclusive learning was recognised when I won the esteemed 'Most Wanted Educator' Award in the Creative Head Awards this year. My winning submission centred around vast research, application, and ongoing committed improvement in this area.
